Gators fans heading to Atlanta to watch the SEC Championship Game will need the winter gear to stay warm. No precipitation is expected, so there shouldn’t be any trouble on the roadways. Those pit stops may be a bit chilly, though. As you cross the state line Friday, temperatures will be falling from an afternoon high near 60 to the 40’s by the time you reach Atlanta in the evening. Overnight lows Friday night will be in the 30’s, but it could feel even colder thanks to a brisk breeze. Wind chills might flirt with the upper 20’s if you’re setting that tailgate up early on Saturday.
There will be plenty of sunshine on game day, but temperatures will struggle to hit 60. You’ll likely want a jacket during your tailgate, and you may want to keep it in hand for any post-game plans. Morning and evening temperatures will be working their way through the 40’s and 50’s. A slight warm up is expected Sunday, but there will be a few more clouds in the sky during the trip home to Florida.
