Brief Shower Possible Saturday Afternoon

Friday Midday Update: Chances of a brief shower Saturday afternoon in Gainesville have increased. The highest chance of rain is between 5 and 8 pm, but a sprinkle or two also can’t be ruled out earlier in the day. The rest of our forecast for all of the homecoming festivities is detailed below.

The comfortable weather that arrived in North Florida this week could not have come at a better time for Gator fans. A northeast breeze will continue and the humidity will stay low through the end of the week. Other than a slight chance of a brief shower Saturday afternoon, worry-free weather is in the forecast for the weekend festivities.

HOUR-BY-HOUR AT UF

The Parade: Friday at Noon (on WUFT-TV)

Friday will be the nicest day we’ve had all week, which is saying something since the weather hasn’t been all that bad lately. The skies will be sunny, the humidity low, and there will be just enough of a breeze to keep those 80’s from feeling too warm. The temperature at noon will be around 81º, with the mercury likely topping out around 84º by mid-afternoon.

Gator Growl: Friday at 6 pm

Skies will stay generally clear and temperatures will fall to the upper 70’s by the start of Gator Growl. After sunset (which is close to 7 pm), temperatures will only slightly fall into the middle and lower 70’s.

Kickoff Against Mizzou: Saturday at 4 pm

A weak front is slated to sneak in Saturday afternoon from the northeast. The day will likely start sunny, and temperatures will warm quickly for tailgaters into the lower 80’s. By mid-afternoon, clouds are likely to build and a brief shower can not be ruled out. The chances of precipitation during the game is 20 percent or lower, but we encourage fans to check back often for updates.
